Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is recommended for people who have had braces removed recently, discolored teeth and general yellow or stained teeth from coffee, tea, red wine, berries and other staining foods.

Teeth whitening offered in our office is the take home kit with custom made trays.  These have been proven to show great results of up to 5 shades whiter.

Of course you can try the store brands first, but the take home kit offered is very strong material.  We use a formulation from 9.5% hydrogen peroxide to 16% hydrogen peroxide depending on the patients needs.

Technique: First you will come in for you custom tray fabrication.  This requires a model of your entire mouth to be made out of plaster material and sent to the lab for tray fabrication.  The lab will send us back your custom trays, which our doctor will try in your mouth in the next visit.  Then we will send you home with the trays and the whitening materials which are present in a syringable gel form. This gel should be placed in the trays and worn in the mouth for at least one hour each day for fourteen days.  After that you should make an appointment to re-evaluate your teeth whitening experience.  If needed we will give you more material to achieve the result.
